If your homeschooling situation changes and you find it necessary to cancel your enrollment please return the Notice of Withdrawal form to St. Thomas Aquinas Academy by mail, fax, email, or scan/upload through the contact portal.  Below are descriptions and costs of the standard enrollment services, optional enrollment services, and goods. The amount of any services used by your family from the date of your application acceptance until the academy receives your Notice of Withdrawal form will be deducted from your refund.

Student Enrollment

The annual enrollment fees are:  $100.00 non-refundable registration fee per family, per school year + $335.00 enrollment fee per student per school year (student fees are discounted to $205.00 when enrolling 2-4 students and $175.00 when enrolling 6 or more students)

The $100.00 family registration fee is not refundable.

The student enrollment fees are refundable for up to ninety days after your enrollment acceptance date printed in your welcome/assessment packet.  Enrollment fees are not prorated.

The window to request a refund of student enrollment fees closes after ninety days or after the Course of Study Planning appointment, whichever comes first.  There are no refunds for unused services. 

The cost of any services utilized prior to submitting the Notice of Withdrawal form will be deducted from the student enrollment fees before the refund is issued.

Schedule of Fees:
  • $100.00 for assessment evaluation, course planning, and Academic Packet development per student
  • $45.00 per advisor telephone session
  • $35.00 technology fee per student (parent and student access to STAA web resources)

Advisor Appointments

Several advisor appointments are included in your family's enrollment package: 1 Course of Study Planning appointment (or 2 if you have enrolled four or more students) and multiple support appointments with your academic advisor or high school advisor.  You may purchase additional appointments as often as desired.

All appointments must be scheduled within the bounds of the school year your student is registered for (academic years end on June 30th).  There are no refunds for unused appointments whether they are part of an enrollment package, promotion, or purchased separately.  

There are no refunds for "no-show" appointments.  Please email or leave a voicemail for your advisor if you experience a severe emergency that prevents you from being available by telephone for the scheduled appointment.  Unfortunately, "I forgot about the appointment" is still considered a "no-show" appointment.  There are multiple, automatic email reminders for appointments to help keep the appointment day and time fresh in mind.  You are not charged for a new appointment when you use the links in your email confirmation to reschedule an appointment.  The reschedule links remain active for up to four hours before the appointment. 

Because of the importance of the annual Course of Study Planning appointment, your advisor will help you reschedule your appointment in cases of emergency or "no-show."  Except in the case of severe emergencies, there is a Course of Study Planning appointment rescheduling fee of $35.00 (up until four hours before the appointment time you can use the email link in your confirmation emails to reschedule the appointment without charge).

STAA Study Guides and Academic Packets

The STAA Study Guides are ordered directly by member families after the Course of Study Planning appointment. Single course booklets cost $14.95 to $29.90.  Full semester study guides cost $39.95 to $49.95.  The optional, bound copies of your family's Academic Packets cost between $19.95 and $39.95.

Refunds are not available for STAA Study Guides and bound Academic Packets.  These resources are printed on-demand when you place your order and are not returnable.  Each individual order is printed by the printer within days of placing the order (should you find that one was misprinted or damaged during shipment, contact the printer immediately to obtain a replacement).

Notes: All STAA Study Guides are viewable at any time on the Member Support Site. They can be read online, but are not printable.  Your students' Academic Packets are emailed to you as PDF documents before your planning appointment and finalized and emailed again after registering your students for courses.  We recommend printing the finalized Academic Packets on three-hole punched paper and sliding them into a sturdy binder if you are not interested in purchasing the optional, bound version from the printer.

Transcript and Diploma Option Package

The fee to participate in the optional semester reporting and development of transcripts program is $75.00 per student per school year.  This fee is paid after the Course of Study Planning appointment when you register for courses and is not refundable.  The two-semester packet review appointments included in the transcript program must be completed no later than July 31st.  There are no refunds or credits for unused appointments.

Incidentals and Special Services

Incidentals are costs incurred by the Academy on behalf of your family that are outside of normal enrollment services. The most common incidentals are: upgrading the speed of mailing, international mailing fees, expedited services, preparation of special paperwork or letters for outside entities, transferring high school credits from other institutions, late payment charges, bounced check charges, currency conversion fees, payment plan set-up fees, “no show” fee for missing a scheduled advisor appointment without a cancellation call or message, completing paperwork outside of the active enrollment period, printing faxed or emailed documents, replacement of paperwork, obtaining copies of paperwork from your child’s file, sending official transcripts to colleges of your choice, and the like.  Any incidental fees that are due will be deducted from a requested refund when a student withdraws.

Any special services that you contract for -- special paperwork, expedited assessment evaluation and planning, expedited transcript preparation, "After Hours" appointments, special postage, printing of emailed or faxed documents, and the like -- are paid for at the time they are arranged.  There are no refunds for these services once rendered.
